If you've lived abroad more than a year, you probably know this story.
“Genki refused my application. I'm 64, healthy, just retired. Cigna quoted me €5,600 a year.”
“I called my insurer's support line at 11pm with my son in the ER. A bot answered.”
We've heard these stories for years. That's why we built Wrplus.
How it works
Three steps. No spam. No upsell.
Tell us about your situation
A 30-second form. Your age, family, where you live, and what you have today.
We compare honestly
We compare licensed insurers — Cigna, Allianz, IMG, Pacific Cross, WR Life and others — against your exact profile.
You get a real human answer in 24h
By email or WhatsApp. In English, French or German. No call-center scripts.
Why Wrplus
Why expats compare with us first
We compare, you decide
We line up licensed insurers side by side on the criteria that matter — limits, network, premium, exclusions. No black box, no sales pitch.
No insurer owns us
We're an independent comparator. No insurer pays to rank higher, so the plan we point to is the one that fits you — not the one that pays us most.
A real human in 24h
Not a call center, not a bot. A real advisor reads your situation and replies within 24 hours, in your language.
Free, and no spam
The comparison costs you nothing. We never sell your data and we don't chase you with calls — one honest answer, then it's your call.
Wrplus is independent — no insurer owns or controls us. We may earn a referral fee if you take up a policy, but it never changes the comparison we show you. See how we compare.
Seven insurers, one 54-year-old expat, side by side

When we send you elsewhere (yes, it happens)
No single insurer wins for everyone. The cheapest plan for a healthy 30-year-old is rarely the best for a family or someone over 55. Here's where the obvious pick changes — and we'll say so.
You're only here for a short stay
If you're young, healthy and genuinely changing countries every few months, a flexible monthly plan like Genki or SafetyWing is cheaper and easy to cancel. But a long-stay visa — like Thailand's DTV — needs real annual health insurance, not travel cover; there, a yearly plan is the right call. We'll tell you honestly which one fits you.
You need cover in the USA
If you want to be covered in the United States — business travel or family there — most expat plans exclude the USA. You'll likely need Cigna Global, IMG or Allianz Care. We hand you the direct links; we don't hold you hostage.
You want ultra-premium luxury
If you want a VIP suite at a top private hospital, an executive room and an international concierge, that's Allianz UltraCare or AXA International Exclusive territory. Most plans are excellent value — but not built for that absolute-luxury segment.
Choose your situation
However you expatriate, we help you cover it.
Real stories from real expats
“Wrplus found me an insurer that actually accepts me — covered at last, despite being 79.”
“I had an accident, MRI scan, and everything was paid the same day. One less worry.”
“Three years on the plan Wrplus compared for me — no price increase, ever. Exactly what was promised.”
Frequently asked questions
No. We're an independent comparison platform — we don't issue policies. We compare licensed insurers and put you in touch with the one that fits. Read our terms.
It depends entirely on your age, country and health. The cheapest plan for a healthy 30-year-old is rarely the best value for a family or someone over 50 — that's exactly what our comparison shows you.
It depends on the insurer. Many cover motorbike and scooter accidents 125cc and above if you wear a helmet; some (like SafetyWing) only cover 50cc or less. We flag it in your comparison.
No. Most insurers we compare accept new policies entirely online, even if you have already moved abroad.
Email us at hello@wrplus.health. A real human answers, and we follow it up directly with the insurer.
